Eleven Hour Flight Home

Day Fifteen - Saturday, January 3, 2026

We woke up and finished our last minute packing. Gary had work issues to deal with before we left for the airport. Fortunately, Madelyn had a chance to run next to the river in 22 degree weather. We said our goodbyes in the lobby and took a taxi one more time to the airport.

The rest is just travel talk. I mistyped Ben’s birthday when I booked his ticket, so he had to get ticket assistance to get a boarding pass. Gary and I waited in a 30 minute line to check bags. And we thought we had loads of time to shop. We didn’t realize that as U.S. citizens you do a pre customs check. So 15 minutes before the gate closed we buzzed through two more lines.

The rest was a 11 hour flight to San Francisco which is filled with plane food, poker and movies.

Ben shoved one of Joe McGill's beers in his bag (UNPROTECTED). It arrived at SFO still in tact.
